The Council of Ministers

  • According to Article 163 (i), there will be a Council of Ministers with the Chief Minister as its head to Assist and advise the Governor in the exercise of his function.
  • Formation of the Council of Ministers - Article 164 The Chief Minister is appointed by the Governor and other ministers are appointed by the Governor on the advice of the Chief Minister.
  • Before assuming office, the Chief Minister has to take two oaths before the Governor -
  •       (i) Compliance with the duties of the post

          (ii) Secrecy.
